The San Gabriel-Castaic Connection encompasses the region between the Castaic Mountains on the west and the San Gabriel Mountains on the East. Much of this land is already within the Angeles National Forest, but a band of privately held property separates the 2 ranges.
Much of the private property is currently undeveloped which allows wildlife to move from one habitat area to another. This privately held land is under the threat of development, which would curtail animal movement between the ranges.
